Insurance Exchanges

July 11, 2011,  the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed a framework to assist states in building Health Insurance Exchanges.

Republican Gov. Robert Bentley issued an executive order on June 2, 2011 setting up an exchange study commission. The executive order does not establish an exchange governance structure but does move the state forward on its planning.
