SCI Partners to Host All-Payer Claims Database Workshop
State Coverage Initiatives (SCI) recently teamed with the National Association of Health Data Organizations (NAHDO) and the All-Payer Claims Database (APCD) Council to host a workshop address technical and policy issues related to APCDs on October 14 and 15 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Topics covered include: current and future uses for APCDs, governance and financing, integration of APCDs with other state reform efforts, and stakeholder input into the role of APCDs.
Participating states were chosen through an application process and each selected state was able to bring four fully-sponsored participants. The workshop included both states with existing APCDs and states that needed help getting an APCD established. Participants were given the opportunity to network with other state officials, meet with APCD experts from across the nation, and hear about the challenges and successes of states already operating APCDs. As many of the attendees turn their attention to building APCDs in their own states, the experience of this workshop will no doubt help them forge ahead.
