States Selected for All-Payer Claims Database Workshop
State Coverage Initiatives (SCI) is pleased to announce that 14 state teams were selected to receive scholarships to attend a workshop on the topic of All-Payer Claims Databases (APCDs) in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 14-15. Many states have expressed interest in implementing APCDs as a way to better understand and compare cost and quality between providers and plans. The workshop is designed to enable state teams to learn from experts and from their peers in other states.
The states that were selected for Track 1 (targeted to states that have not yet enacted APCD legislation) are: Arkansas, California, Florida[1], Kentucky, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia. The states selected for Track 2 (for states that already have an APCD or the legislative authority to create one) are Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Vermont.
State Coverage Initiatives is partnering with the National Association of Health Data Organizations and the APCD Council (formerly the Regional All-Payer Healthcare Information Council) to host the workshop.
[1] Florida was unable to take advantage of the travel and meeting scholarships due to travel restrictions in the state.
