AcademyHealth’s State Quality Improvement Institute recently hosted a webinar which outlined the delivery system and payment reform provisions included in the Affordable Care Act. The Urban Institute’s Stan Dorn presented on federal reforms and state policy options related to transparency, delivery system redesign, payment reforms, and population health. Particularly, the presentation discusses grant funding that states may qualify to receive. It emphasizes the impact of both Medicare payment reforms and the planned Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, which will allow states to be more creative and proactive in asking the federal government for support for state-based initiatives.
