New Toolkit for Departments of Insurance: Marketplace Financial Assistance and Tax Filing Issues

The Georgetown University Health Policy Institute, with support from the State Health Reform Assistance Network, has developed a toolkit to assist consumer service representatives at state departments of insurance in understanding insurance basics, ACA changes and other reforms. ThisConsumer Services Toolkit was recently updated to include information on marketplace financial assistance (advanced premium tax credits) and related tax filing issues. Among the issues covered is a primer on Form 1095-A, the tax document sent to individuals by state marketplaces showing their plan information from the previous year.
