2012 Annual Rate Review Report
The United States Department of Health and Human Services released a 2012 Annual Rate Review report highlighting that the ACA rate review and Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) provisions have:
- Lowered health insurance premium growth and saved consumers an estimated $1 billion in premiums;
- Resulted in 13 million consumers receiving $1.1 billion in MLR rebates; and
- Have yielded an estimated $2.1 billion in health insurance premium savings to customers in one year.
