The State of Health Insurance in California: Findings from the 2009 California Health Interview Survey
This report looks at health insurance trends, access, and coverage status for California. The authors report that hundreds of thousands of Californians lost coverage during the "Great Recession" due in large part to job loss, and that the number of Californians with medical debt grew by 400,000 between 2007 and 2009 to 2.6 million.
