Georgia MLR Request Accepted
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services approved Georgia’s request for an adjustment to its Medical Loss
Ratio (MLR). In March 2011, Georgia requested an adjustment of the MLR standard to 65 percent, 70 percent, and 75 percent in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. However, the final adjustment approved by HHS was “70 percent in 2011 and 75 percent in 2012, with the statutory standard of 80 percent to apply beginning 2013.”
