National Association of Medical Director's Comment Letter on August 2011 Exchange Reguations
The National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) submitted a letter commenting on the three proposed regulations issued on August 12, 2011, and identified for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services some common themes for refinement:
- Timely, comprehensive information is essential for meeting deadlines
- Program integrity rules need clarification and alignment
- Federal agency coordination is vital for consistent, timely guidance to states
- Consult with states to develop reasonable solutions to pressing policy and operational questions
- Leverage state expertise to simplify, streamline and contain costs.
