California Level One Establishment Grant Narrative
California applied for the Level One grant June 30, 2011 and was awarded $39,421,383 from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on August 12, 2011. Among other activities, the state expects to use the funding toward:
- Planning, research and early implementation as appropriate in all 11 core areas identifed in the HHS application;
- Developing policy goals for the Exchange;
- Securing staff consultants and expert resources;
- Actively engaging stakeholders to inform and support Exchange planning, and implementation activities; and
- Providing the information, data and consideration of options to support applying to the Level Two Establishment grant
