HA/CMS-U.S. Health Spending Projected To Grow 5.8 Percent Annually
This Health Affairs (subscription required) article on a CMS spending report notes that by 2020, health care spending in the U.S. will account for nearly a fifth of GDP, while expanding insurance coverage to 30 million more Americans. The projections say health spending will grow by an average 5.8 percent a year in the coming years, totally $4.64 trillion in 2020, up from $2.58 trillion in 2010.
