HHS- Proposed Rule on Establishment of Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) Program
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released draft rules on the implementation of Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) program under the Affordable Care Act. This program will fund the creation of CO-OPs (nonprofit health coverage organizations) to offer qualified health plans in insurance exchanges.
The grant announcement has been posted for the CO-OP program. The announcement says applications will be due Dec. 31, 2012.
