CO-Exchange Legislation
The bill (S.B. 11 200) establishes the Colorado health benefit exchange as a nonprofit unincorporated public entity. Gpvernpr Hickenlooper signed the bill June 1, 2011. The exchange is governed by a board of directors consisting of nine members appointed by the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the minority leaders of the senate and the house of representatives, and three ex officio non-voting members. Colorado is the eight state to voluntarily set up an exchange post ACA.
