MI-Two More High Risk Pool Plans
Michigan is adding two more health insurance plans to its high risk insurance pool in an effort to cover more uninsured individuals with chronic illnesses. The new plans have lower premiums and higher deductibles compared to the plans currently offered, but all plans will offer the same coverage.
The high risk insurance pool is part of a federal program established by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in response to the Affordable Care Act. Michigan's plan is administered by Physicians Health Plan of Mid-Michigan.
The plans will be available May 1. For more details visit HIP Michigan website.
