Technical Assistance Call to Help Prepare Your Exchange Planning Grant Applications

The State Coverage Initiatives (SCI) hosted a technical assistance conference call on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 2- 3:30 p.m. EDT focused on assisting states in completing the application and providing submission information for the State Planning and Establishment Grants for the exchanges outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Jon Kingsdale, the founding executive director of the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector, and Patrick Holland, the first chief financial officer for the Connector, walked state officials through each section required under the grant application and provided examples of the type of information states should be considering as justification for the grant including relevant empirical data needs, market information, and identification of key stakeholders and processes.
