NC-Senate Approves Health Information Exchange Legislation
North Carolina Senate has approved S.B. 375 and it now heads to the House for its consideration. The bill will provide a legal framework for the state to voluntarily set up health information exchanges. The health information exchange would allow providers to share patient information throughout the state in accordance to HIPPA law. If the bill is signed into law, it will be effective Oct 1, 2011.
