KS-Medicaid Reform
Luitenant Governonr Jeff Coyler was tasked with leading Kansas' medicaid program redesign. Coyler would like to achieve saving between $200 and $400 million by fiscal year 2013.There were about 120 suggestions and proposals submitted, some from average citizens, but the majority came from advocacy groups and major corporations. The full list of suggestions are available here. Kansas Governor Brownback has also been exchaging letters with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Brownback has asked the Secretary, and former Kansas governor, for more flexibilty in spending federal medicaid dollars.
