HSC-State Variation in Primary Care Physician Supply: Implications for Health Reform Medicaid Expansions
The objective of this study was to examine state variation in Medicaid primary care physician (PCP) supply, taking into account:
* the overall supply of PCPs in the state;
* the proportion of PCPs who accept Medicaid patients; and
* the number of nonelderly Medicaid enrollees in the state.
The study also looks at how state variation in Medicaid PCP supply will change after the Medicaid expansion begins in 2014.
